ADC III

- enlarged -

The ADC III is an 8 channel 120dB 24bit/96kHz analog to digital converter designed for connection with the DSP24 or DSP24 MK II PCI recording cards or for stand alone use.

ADC III is no longer available. As replacement, we recommend the SM PRO AUDIO PR8 MK2.

The ADC III is housed in a full size rack-mountable chassis and contains 8 x XLR balanced input connections, 4 x stereo unbalanced TRS input connections, 4 x S/PDIF output connections. Each balanced input has a MIC & LINE PRE-AMP (-12dB ~ + 40dB) and can deliver phantom power if required (switch on front panel).

The ADC III uses ultra high quality Crystal 24bit/96kHz converters from market leader Cirrus Logic. The CS5396/97 ADC's are targeted for the highest performance professional audio systems requiring wide dynamic range, negligible distortion, and low noise.

The ADC III has a digital S/PDIF output for every pair of balanced inputs. This allows you to use the ADC III as a stand alone ADC unit. Selection for stand alone sample rate between 44.1kHz and 96kHz is provided by a switch on the front panel. Simultaneous 8 channel analog inputs will be converted to 8 channel digital outputs at sampling rates of 44.1kHz or 96kHz and 24bit.

When used with the DSP24 PCI card the ADC III can be integrated into a powerful computer based recording system allowing for expansion like DAC output racks (ie. DAC III) using ST Audio's H-BUS interface.
